Witchcraft

Hi Nailiens,
my last mani for Halloween this year is this witchy / ritual-ish nail art plus a cool bat ring :D
Started with two thin coats of Illamasqua's "Creator" (amazing slightly jelly black polish with short silver bar glitter) on all my nails except my ring finger nail, here I painted on two coats of OPI's "Lady In Black". I did this because next, I applied chrome powder on it. I laid down a layer of Ciaté's "Bloom Boost" before rubbing in the chrome powder by NurBesten. It feels like it is easier and looks better when you rub the powder into a nail strengthener or something similar. They dry fast but leave a stickier feel than a top coat or clear polish.

A big problem with these chrome powders is that you can't seal them with nail polish... but I have found a pretty good solution for this problem! ;)

The solution came to me with this nail art mat by NurBesten. You do not necessarily need it but it makes it super easy. A piece of plastic foil will do it, too but I don't want to miss my nail art mat now. I said all the time:"they look nice but do you really need one...?"
I apply a layer of clear polish on the mat and let it dry to the point I could peel it off and place it with the shiny side on the chrome powder on the nail. If you place the matte side on the nail it wouldn't stick as good and will look milky in the end (Learned that the hard way). I peeled off the "foil" a bit too early so the powder crinkled a bit. But let me tell you on my test nail the finish of the chrome powder barely changed.
Cleaned up the excess of the "foil" and applied my top coat to melt the sandwich together.

Then, I decorated the shit out of it.The circles are cut out metallic tattoos and the pentagram is freehanded with acrylic paint.

Let me tell you really fast about the really neat nail art mat...First of all, the mat came in an ultra-sturdy carton roll It has the size of an A4 piece of paper, a matte surface and a shiny backside so it doesn't slide around. The patterns are printed on, they are slightly higher than the mat. The print survived rubbing and scratching over it with nail polish remover. The mat is such a good quality, I love it, it is on my desk all the time now!
I tried my best to film a tutorial but I really sucked at it... I have to learn that for you.
And last but not least, here is the ring you can see in the first photo. It inspired me to do these nails. The details on it are just lovely. It is a double finger ring. The rings are adjustable to your size... even to my fat finger size! Definitely an all-year piece for me ^^
