Master of the Star Struggles

Hi little Nailiens,
today a nail art design that looks very easy and simple but no... I struggled too hard with the star stickers Y025* by BornPrettyStore.com. The case is not that they are bad quality, it's just
I have never really used nail vinyls ( except striping tape if you want to count that but I also struggle with that -.-)
So I started with a black polish as the base. When the polish has dried but hasn't completely hardened, I rubbed in 5 different metallic powders (item 30290). On my thumb purple, green, gold, blue and orange-red. My favorites of these are purple, blue and orange-red. Sadly I messed up the thumb, so I have no photo of it. The finish of the powders is not very strong, more like giving a colorful shimmer to a base color. They remind me of car polish, slight metallic mirror-ish shimmer. I really like how this finish looks in person. The powders come in a small container and a sponge applicator in a ziplock bag, so the dust stays in the bag and you don't have to worry about where to keep the "dirty" sponge.
Sealed all that in with a fast drying top coat because now the stickers will be stuck on. You have to peel off the vinyls very carefully or otherwise, they will be ripped apart because they are pretty thin cut. I was too impatient so I ripped apart the first three ones. I also noticed that the vinyls stick very strong so I stuck them on the back of my hand before putting them on my nails, but after that, I got the hang of it and they worked just fine.
The star is made out of "Diamond" by FUN lacquer. I love this holo topper! It is strong holo magic in a bottle! Too bad that I am not able to capture it.
